Dear
On a Personal Note
Today, first of all, I
wanted to say thank you for being here and reading my notes. I'm truly grateful for your presence! 💜
As this email winged it's way over to you, we're away on a weekend trip to recharge our batteries. (I'm grateful for technology that allows me to schedule!) We're going to the gorgeous Wroxhall Abbey Hotel
about 2 hours North of us. We love old buildings with character and history.
It's been a cold, windy, and grey March and I wouldn't call it Spring yet! We've compared photo's of our garden and screenshots of the weather app from this time last year. In March 2022 we already had 16C (60F) days with
plenty of sunshine. This year, it's still hovering around 11C (50F) and it's grey! Ooph, my South African bones are really longing for blue skies and the sun on my face. At least, we already have many more daylight hours than just 2 months ago.
That reminds me of how fast things can change when we
look back. In the midst of a dark period like mid-winter or a difficult event, it can feel endless and bereft of hope. Yet, when we're through to the other side and we look back, it doesn't seem that bad, and we can't remember exactly how it felt.
I've been listening to a webinar on Trauma by an
excellent UK teacher, Carolyn Spring. She's written incredibly helpful and touching books about trauma recovery, too.
What struck me deeply was that we are not meant to go through trauma and difficult times alone. In ancient times when a bear threatened to eat us, we went back to our tribe, sat around the camp fire, told our story while the tribe tended to our wounds - and together we decided what to do about the bear to make it safer for everyone.
We've lost much of that in modern times. I've felt the power of this in my own life. The most profound healings I've had from fear, worry and anxiety were always with another kind, compassionate human being. Never alone.
And that is partly why I feel so passionate about my EFT Tapping Circles. It's a place where we get together, tend to our wounds, and heal together. We can't always 'kill the bear' in these circles, but we can certainly walk away feeling calmer and more resourceful. So often, participants find they suddenly come up with
ideas and solutions for their challenging situation.
My warm invitation for you, and last reminder about this free Tapping Circle, is below. I would especially encourage you to register if you have not experienced EFT yet. You'll be very welcome!
