Hello - Want to fall in love with presenting?

Published: Sun, 10/02/16

Dear ,

If you're anything like I was a few short years ago (and sometimes STILL am!), you might find yourself doing a noisy 'SWALLOW' and quiver in your shoes if someone asks you to do "a little presentation to your colleagues". Or students. Or peers...

I SO clearly remember some of the times I stood up in front of even a small audience as an adult. And the time I stood red-faced and silent in front of our Standard 8 class because I'd forgotten the entire speech I'd practiced so carefully.

I thought I knew it. And I DID. At home - where there was no pressure. It ALL changes as soon as we're 'visible, on a stage' where fear starts doing it's little dance in our limbic brain.

The symptoms of this fear: butterflies on the solar plexus, dry mouth, shaking legs, numbness in the limbs, a quivery, small voice, the terror that of forgetting what you wanted to say and going blank, that the audience will find it boring, uninteresting or be critical, and thoughts about disappearing into the floor or simply turning around and heading out the door at breakneck speed (never to be seen again because of the sheer embarrassment...)!

I've managed to overcome much of this showstopping fear through LOADS of tapping, getting help from experts and support from coaches and mentors. It didn't happen overnight - in fact, it was a very slow process for me, spread over years - because each bit of information came from a different source, at a different time in my life.

The road can be shorter for you!

Many introverts experience this same challenge. We simply don't love being in the spotlight. So today I'd love to tell you about a resource, that I'm rather sad was not available at the time I started teaching and presenting some of my work. This in-person workshop could have changed my entire experience in only 2 days!

If you have a body of work you'd love to teach, share with others, and bring out in the world, how would it be for you to:

  • overcome your fear, anxiety and nervousness of public speaking
and fall in love with the act of presenting and get your message across effectively?
  • easily put together (and remember!) any presentation
and cater for all learning styles?
  • present in a way that’s natural, spontaneous and inspiring
and truly connect with your audience from the minute you get up there?
  • engage your audience in a way that’s easy, fun, and works
and find out how good it feels to feel good about presenting?
  • learn how to avoid the biggest mistake most presenters make
and be remembered as a speaker, for the right reasons?
My friend, experienced EFT Trainer and trusted colleague Bennie Naude, is presenting a whole 2-day workshop in Cape Town (South Africa)  in October to help us "Fall in Love with Presenting."   Awesome news!
