Dear
Wow... it's been 6 weeks since I last wrote. It's been eventful, and not in the easiest way.
Andrew's mom got terribly ill while on holiday in the Kruger Park, far away from her own home. After 2 weeks in ICU in the Nelspruit hospital, it was not looking good. Andrew got the call on 4 November to return as soon as possible. A very wild day followed with a last-minute flight booking. There was precisely one ticket left for that evening's flight. He made it to the hospital to spend 1.5 hours next to
her bedside, though she was already unconscious. She drifted away quietly with all 3 her sons and husband of 63 years by her side.
About 2 weeks before Andrew left, I started having a few health issues. During his 2 weeks away, they unfortunately got worse. Ugh. I won't repeat all the details. The anxiety of dealing with health stuff while being alone here in the flat in London was beyond anything I'd experienced before. Tap-tap wasn't much use, I have to honestly admit, while feeling as awful as I did. Andrew decided to shorten
his trip to rescue his damsel in distress. The relief when he walked through the door was just indescribable.
During this rough patch, three of my dear friends (all in other countries) were going through some really tough things of their own. We were able to support each other from very far away. The kindness, gentleness, support and empathy we exchanged were simply priceless.
During this time, as I usually do, I wrote about the experiences. It helps me to process, make sense of it... and if it helps even one person in a small way, it feels worth it that I could share.
Here are some of my thoughts over the past month.
One last online class for 2019
You can attend live f*ree of charge, or pay a small amount (20 Pounds, or 25 USD) if you want the recording without attending. The class will be on 17 December, at 9 am PT, 12 pm ET, 5 pm UK, 7 pm SA. First, I need to decide on the topic. So many to choose from.
Please help me to make it valuable by choosing the topic that would be most helpful to you. You can vote fore more than one!
Thank you!
It's December already...
Most of my SA peeps are champing at the bit to go on a wonderful outdoors summer holiday. If you're in the northern hemisphere it might be a time of spending more time indoors, quiet reflection, hibernating, good books and rich food. I'm going to send a few short emails over the next few weeks because I DO have a few awesome things to share that might be useful for you.
If you're going on holiday - have fun, enjoy, be safe and rest well. If not - have fun anyway, find pleasure in the small normal things, and remember to build in consistent self-care. Your health is important!
Thank you for being part of my community! Wishing you wellness, ease and kindness to yourself.
With love,
Liesel
