Chronic stress is one condition we're all exposed to. We don't even realise we're stressed or anxious most of the week, until we go on holiday and notice the difference.
I don't believe we were meant to live this kind of life. Yet, that's what's true for most of us. We often don't think we can do much about it.
The thing is... living in that 'high rev' state causes havoc with our health and well-being. Our nervous system was not designed to function at this level for most of our lives.

Dr Hyman is a functional medicine expert and 12-times New York Times Best Selling author.
He says, "There are three things that are critical for healing: it's what you eat, moving your body, and learning how to reset your nervous system." (Note from Liesel: I must admit the phrase "reset your nervous system" is a big buzzword right now and I sometimes feel annoyed by buzzwords... but hey, this man talks a lot of sense!)
What does a person like Dr Hyman recommend for relaxing the nervous system? It might not surprise you that he talks about EFT (tapping) - the method I love and use so much!
"Tapping is one of the most directed and powerful ways to peel those layers of chronic stress. It's very effective for very difficult problems."

I heard about this concept around 2015, when I was working with a dear mentor in the US, Paul Zelizer. Up to then I was very familiar with choosing goals for the upcoming year — yet just “one word” was new to me.
I didn’t get into it for another year or so and the first word I chose to really get into it was “Consistency”. I’d been only showing up for my business intermittently, and doing little disappearing acts now and again. I finally realised that inconsistent action wasn’t going to bring me a consistent income.
I must admit there were periods during that year, that I forgot my word. And even so, just having it brew somewhere in the background had an effect. That year (2018) was the year I finally started getting consistent with writing articles for my FB business page. Thanks to George Kao, my current business mentor, who keeps setting a fabulous example!
