Dear
I'm noticing so many conflicts of interests around me especially in these last few months. One simple example is the current situation with TFL (Transport for London, the public transport system of buses, tubes, overground trains and trams).
The finances of TFL is under severe strain. On the one hand, passengers have been asked to travel only when it's essential. On the other hand, that means half-empty trains and buses, and it's not sustainable to keep running it. There are two opposing goals here: TFL is a business with its own goals and budget. while at the same time the government wants to protect the NHS (where just about
everyone in the UK can receive free health care).
Two opposing goals can create a mess and a difficult situation.
That's exactly the kind of conflict sensitive, caring souls experience when they create a business.
On the one hand, they want to help and support others, heal or fix problems, and make a difference in the world. They want to make a living that way because it's what they do best - it's their strengths!
Yet, what they've learnt about money, economical systems, inequality, business, and profit over people usually sit in direct opposition to their caring hearts and nature.
On top of that, there can be issues of self-esteem, feeling worthy/unworthy, confidence, questioning the value they offer because it can feel so intangible (opposed to something like accounting where there's a tangible result like a Balance Sheet, or a dentist where there was a hole in your tooth and afterwards there's no hole).
Conundrum! They want to make a living doing what they do best, AND it can be terribly hard to get past the inner conflicts.
That's exactly what my monthly workshop will cover. I know this topic intimately myself, from struggling with all of those opposing beliefs, feelings and thoughts. More below.
